A model of a sailing boat typical for Curonian Lagoon. This boat is made of natural Baltic amber. Boat part and weathervane are made of green and earth colour amber. The sail is made of butterscotch amber. Fishermen in Curonian Lagoon used this type of boat from XIV- XV century. These boats were about 10 metres length and flat-bottomed. The top of the boat was decorated with a weathervane, which was not just a décor but also a special marking system for control of the fishery. This exact amber ship model is very elegant and light and is perfect as a present.
